An Untapped Travel Hack

My mind’s eye can still see the beautiful aqua blue ocean as I walked out onto the pool side balcony of the Marriott San Juan Puerto. I can still hear the waves thrashing upon the shore, and feel the breeze that swayed the beautiful palm trees all around.

During our family holiday gathering just 8 months prior, the young adults of the family were challenged to plan a family vacation in celebration of my youngest sister’s 50th Birthday!

For those of us who love to travel and desire to travel more with great perks and reasonable rates, this travel hack is one of the absolute best. Trust me!

Okay, back to our destination and awesome trip. 🙂

The accommodations were outstanding and the staff was “exceptionally nice” as described by my niece. Personally, in all my years of travel, have ever encountered such a wonderful team of hospitable and gracious staff such as what we experienced at the Marriott San Juan, Puerto. We booked this venue through the club as it came highly recommended and we were not disappointed!

There were activities and tours galore to experience on the island, a few of our favorites included: Ziplining with EcoQuest, The Rain Forest, Port San Juan, El Morro, The Bacardi Distillery, and Old San Juan, among many others!

I must highlight two favorite dining experiences of many!

Raices in Old San Juan and Oceano in Condado where we celebrated with the birthday girl!

Mufungo an island favorite was delicious!

The local seafood served at Oceano was divine!

“The people of San Juan really wanted you to enjoy their home and see as much of it as possible!” On a stroll down to the corner bakery we were met with a smile and hello on every corner, literally! The Uber drivers were patient, informative as well as kind. The people simple exuded kindness and gratitude!

The locals actually serenaded my sister Pam on our way back to hotel from her birthday celebration. What a wonderful highlight and such a special moment for her!
